Profile
Who are we?
We are Hammer & Ravens, an indie game studio based in Tallinn, Estonia.
In early 2018 (and while developing Empires in Ruins) we released Razerwire:Nanowars, a bite-sized frantic bullet hell space game that strangely reminds you of the “cooties”… By 2021, Razerwire:Nanowars was also made available on Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
In February 2020, Empires in Ruins was released in Early Access. Empires in Ruins is a daring TD/4X mashup staged in a grim world where the power-hungry and corrupt take on our antihero, Sgt. Hans Heimer. Empires in Ruins left Early Access in March ’21.
In December 2020, we took our first stab into publishing, with Vikerlane’s Headbangers in Holiday Hell. A game that smells like the ’90s, feels like the ’90s, and makes you question the motives of that bearded guy in the red costume.
Since May 2022, we have been working on Ale Abbey, our upcoming Monastery Brewery Tycoon. We are planning to make Ale Abbey relaxing, rewarding, and a good segue into actual brewing! We plan to release Ale Abbey around the first quarter of 2024.
So far, we’ve worked as small agile teams that focus on finishing a game, restructuring, and moving on to the next! Regardless of how odd of a bunch we are, we aspire to be fabulous with one another and the entire gaming community.
What make us stand out?
The studio is operated by a madman and manned by a band of pirates, vagabonds, and rogues. What defines our games is tongue-in-cheek realism and mechanics that are challenging, but always fun!

About the game
Give your brew a unique name, experiment to discover special traits, and ensure your ales reach unprecedented popularity! Dive into a vast array of over 20 European styles, meticulously choosing the equipment that best suits your needs. Adjust the quantity, quality, and mash temperature to blend the perfect brew. Decide whether to store it for aging, or sell it at the market. Put your trust in your monks’ brewing skills, and let them create the holy ale.
Make sure your monastery prospers and ascends to glory! Above ground, build living quarters for your holy crew, production hubs like Libraries and Breweries, and some all-purpose spaces, including the Refectory and the Abbot’s Office. Beneath these heavenly floors, it’s all about your monastery’s cold cellars (the most sacred of spaces for your brews). Design, build, and turn your monastery into a hub of holy hops!
It’s not only about crafting ales, it’s about curating a brewing legacy. At Ale Abbey, happy monks will need more than just a good workplace, they will require a steady flow of tasty ales. But that’s not all! Appease Lords, befriend neighboring Abbeys, and handle bandit encounters… A tale of challenges unveils in the frothy world of Ale Abbey!

About the game
In a corrupted little Principality governed by spruced up popinjays, snobby clergymen and power greedy army officers, something just happened. A god forgotten borderland, the Western Marches, just got inflamed with rebellion, cutting every contact with the capital and declaring independence.
And in such a critical moment, who to send in order to quell the rebellion if not a grumpy alcoholic sergeant with discipline problems and bad bad temper?
Why him? And what is the neighboring kingdom, the Krovans, plotting to do with the Principality of Koth?
Empires in Ruins is composed of two main parts. The turn based Main Map, where the campaign develops and you are called to managed the conquered provinces and the Battlefield, where the real time blood flows and you need to kick the enemy in the arse or be the one kicked.
Empires in Ruins whole plot-driven campaign of turn based strategy and empire building, is managed in the main map. Through it you will access
the single combat maps (according to the plot flow or in order to defend/replay maps), manage diplomacy and access the single province to improve or check their assets and governors.
