Unreal Engine Animation Programmer
This role is expected to begin as a remote position, paid relocation to Pärnu will begin once the probation period has ended.

Gamecan is looking for an Unreal Animation Programmer whose sole mission is to develop, enhance and maintain our core systems within Unreal Engine 5, as well as optimizing them for multiple platforms.
As an Animation Programmer, you will work closely with other engineers, animators, technical animators, product managers, and leads.
You also have a passion for creating games with great people.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional game and/or animation system development experience
- Experience in writing C++ applications
- Excellent linear algebra skills and applications of linear algebra in software
- Experience with rigging systems, animation state machines, low-level animation systems, physics-based animation and/or IK systems
- Performance-minded development and optimization skills
- Proactive team player
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Self-driven team player with a strong work ethic
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement and maintain core animation systems of the project
- Improve animation workflows with proper tools and pipelines
- Maintain and optimize animation assets and rigs
- Create technical documentation and share knowledge with the team
- Participate in team meetings, including daily stand-ups
- Establish a shared Unreal Engine knowledge base
- Guide project configuration/structure
- Investigate upcoming engine features related to your role and guide teams on how best to use them
- Mentor less experienced team members on best technology usage and good practices
- Foster working relationships with multiple teams across the company
- Participate in team meetings, including daily stand-ups
Good to have
- Experience in networking animated characters
- Knowledge of Unreal Engine’s Multiplayer Framework and its implementation with the Animation systems
- Experience working with game physics
- Experience of profiling and optimization
