GAME DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
ame Design and Development is a curriculum designed to provide skills for developing both mobile and PC games, as well as starting up game companies. As you may know, the video game industry is the fastest growing entertainment industry in the world. In the year 2021 only, the video games market volume exceeded €80bn, which is more than that of film and music combined. The rapid development of technology and almost constant release of new games means that the gaming industry offers a vast array of career opportunities in various disciplines. This is exactly the direction towards which the EUAS offered curriculum steers.
Its main focus is on gameplay development, game mechanics and monetisation model design; with possible specialisation in game graphics or software development. Hence, the curriculum of Game Design and Development is suited for people who have a deep interest in games and, possibly, a wide array of hobbies. One of the most important parts is having the ability to look past the gameplay. If you find yourself analysing the games you play, you have selected the correct curriculum. Students with prior knowledge or skills in graphics or programming have another advantage, since this curriculum is a great option for finding an outlet for seemingly exclusive interests like artistic programming or music graphic designing.
The curriculum will facilitate the flow of students’ creativity by covering all the aspects of game-creation and providing knowledge and tools to design new virtual worlds from the ground up. As you know, a game is a complex product and a game designer – who is well-versed in software development, computer graphics and business thinking – could become a core member of a team, a specialist for developing magnificent game mechanics and captivating gameplay.
